Chairman, Board of Directors

Dr. Ken Ukaoaha is a distinguished lawyer specializing in International Trade and Economic Development Law.

He holds an impressive array of academic qualifications, having studied law at the University of Ibadan and obtained both his LLB and LLM degrees there. Additionally, he earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing from the University of Lagos and pursued further studies at the UN International Academy for Leadership in Gummersbach, Germany, where he attained a Master's in Multilateral Legal Services (MLS). His educational journey continued at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology with an MBA and at Lagos State University, where he received a Master's in International Law and Diplomacy (MILD). Dr. Ukaoaha culminated his academic pursuits with a PhD in International Trade, Investment, and Economic Law. Professionally, Dr. Ukaoaha is renowned as a skilled Trade Negotiator, economic development policy analyst, and advocate. He has represented Nigeria and Africa at numerous WTO Negotiations and serves as a visiting lecturer at the World Trade Institute (WTI) in Switzerland. His expertise extends to consultancy roles with prestigious organizations, including ECOWAS, the African Union, the World Bank, and UNECA, focusing on trade and economic integration policies and laws. Notably, he contributes as a member of the ECOWAS negotiating team on Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) and serves as Vice Chair of the Africa, Caribbean, and Pacific Group (ACP) trade negotiation Technical Team. Beyond his legal and academic pursuits, Dr. Ukaoaha is an accomplished Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of three influential magazines: the ECOWAS Vanguard, the Trade Policy Monitor, and Farm and Food Newsletter. He currently holds the presidency of the National Association of Nigerian Traders and assumes the role of Acting Director-General at the West African Institute for Trade and Development (WAITAD).

His professional affiliations include Fellowships at five distinguished Chartered Institutes, including the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Global Institute for Trade Information.

Dr. Ukaoaha is also recognized for his role as a member of the 7-man eminent persons appointed by the Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State, tasked with advocating and adjudicating on matters concerning the ECOWAS Trade Liberalization Scheme (ETLS).

In addition to his intellectual pursuits, Dr. Ukaoaha maintains a passion for agriculture and entrepreneurship, balancing his professional achievements with practical contributions to local farming and business ventures.

O. Alex-Egboro Esq. is a distinguished Legal Practitioner renowned for his expertise in Property, Banking, Environmental, and Oil and Gas laws. He has built a formidable career spanning various prestigious institutions and professional roles.

He commenced his academic journey at the University of Port Harcourt, earning a B.Sc. degree in Zoology with a specialization in Animal and Environmental Biology. Subsequently, he pursued his passion for law at the University of Benin, where he obtained both his LLB and LLM degrees. His legal education culminated at the Nigerian Law School, where he was called to the Bar and received his Barrister at Law (BL) qualification.

As the Principal Partner of Alex Egboro & Co (Johnmark Chambers), Barr. Alex Egboro leads a respected legal practice known for its expertise in diverse fields of law. Beyond legal practice, he holds the position of CEO at Johnmark Investments & Property Ltd., underscoring his leadership in business and property ventures.

Additionally, Barr. Alex Egboro serves as an Executive Director and Legal Adviser at Merosa Academy group of schools in Abuja, highlighting his commitment to education and community development.

In his personal life, Barr. Alex Egboro is a devoted family man, married with children, including two accomplished lawyers who have likely followed in his professional footsteps. His contributions to the legal profession, business sector, and education community underscore Barr. Alex Egboro’s multifaceted influence and leadership in Nigeria.

HAMZA AL-MUSTAPHA

Board Member

Early Life and Education: Born on July 27, 1960, in Nguru, Yobe State, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha was raised under a strict Islamic upbringing.

He excelled academically, serving as Class Monitor and Prefect during his schooling at Hausari Primary School and Government Secondary School, Nguru.Military Career: Major Al-Mustapha joined the Nigerian Defence Academy in 1980, graduating as Sports Captain and Junior Under Officer.

Known for his bravery and leadership, he held various appointments in military intelligence and security across Nigeria, including roles at the Presidency and in international operations.

Career Achievements: As Chief Security Officer to General Sani Abacha, Major Al-Mustapha contributed significantly to national stability and development. Notably, he initiated the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF), leading to unprecedented infrastructural development across Nigeria.

His influence extended to the creation of new states, grassroots democratic movements, and the fostering of peace initiatives in conflict-prone regions.

Ltd, an interdisciplinary and Multi-sectoral, Consulting Firm with Global and National Experts, offering Advisory, Technical, Legal, and other Consultancy services to Governments and organizations in Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Sectoral Reforms, Conflict Management, Gender, Financial Management, Procurement, Monitoring and Evaluation, English Language Studies, Communication Arts Development and Strategic Communication. She is also the Director General and Member, Governing Council of the reputable Institute of Soft Skill and Vocational Development (ISSVD) Nig.

Born 12th June 1976. He attended Alafia Institute, Orogun, Ibadan for his nursery and primary school education. Thereafter proceeded to Maryland Comprehensive Secondary School, Maryland, Lagos for his secondary school education.

He gained admission into the University of Ibadan where he satisfied the requirements for an LL.B Degree.

He attended the Nigeria Law School where he qualified to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 2004.

He cut his teeth as a legal practitioner during his NYSC, year in 2004 at the Rivers State
Ministry of Justice.

He used the opportunity to prove himself by preparing advice on civil and criminal matters. He did not stop there but immediately dove into the courtroom where he argued several cases of high importance for the state.

Upon completion of his NYSC in September 2005, he joined the law firm of OLUJINMI & AKEREDOLU.

His first responsibility was to set up the Abuja office of the firm in 2005. He successfully delivered the firm in January 2006. The branch grew from just 2 lawyers in 2006 to 26 lawyers presently.

He was elevated to the highly coveted rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in 2023.
